REMEMBER
Season 3 : Episode 48

MEDICAL REPORT:

As Voyager transports a group of Enarans to their home world, Torres begins having intense dreams, each night envisioning herself as an Enaran woman named Korenna. Chakotay notes that each new dream seems to advance Korenna's story and wonders if there is a connection between the dreams and the presence of the telepathic Enarans. Later, Torres passes out while having a waking vision of Korenna's life. When she awakens in Sickbay, the Doctor tells Torres that she is not dreaming, as she had believed. Instead, Torres' cortical theta waves indicate she was experiencing memories specifically implanted in her mind by someone at present unknown, and there is strong evidence of telepathic activity in her frontal lobe. The synaptic patterns of the implanted memories are not quite compatible with her neural pathways, resulting in some minor cortical damage, which the Doctor corrects. He gives her an inhibitor to control her theta wave activity and suppress the memories.

But Torres refuses to wear the cortical inhibitor as she wants to obtain all the memories and thus learn Korenna's full story. Torres eventually identifies which of the Enaran passengers Korenna is and receives all her story telepathically before Korenna dies from a fall (accidental or murder is not clear but Torres suspects the latter).

DOCTOR'S QUOTE:

To Torres who wants to continue receiving the memories: "I don't think satisfying your curiosity is worth risking brain damage, Lieutenant."
