MEDICAL LOGS
DREADNOUGHT
Season 2 : Episode 33
DOCTOR'S LOG:
During an antenatal visit to Sickbay by Ensign Wildman, she, Kes and the Doctor discuss possible names for the baby. She reveals her husband is Ktarian, and she believes she is carrying a boy. The Doctor displays a knowledge of names, having reviewed historical, literary and anthropological databases from over five hundred worlds, and has yet to find a suitable name. - the name Cameron is derived from the ancient Celtic term for "one whose nose is bent" while Frederick bears a close resemblance to a rather impolite term on the Bolian homeworld. He also explains that the Vulcan name Sural was also the name of a dictator on Sakura Prime, famed for beheading his rivals and his parents. He is hurt by the fact that Kes never suggested he take her father's name, Benaren. Her suggestion of her uncle's name, Elrem, and Tarik, a boy she once knew, are not taken up by the Doctor.

Later, when Janeway initiates Voyager's self-destruct sequence planning a collision course with the missile Dreadnought, she sets the warp core to overload in 20 minutes and orders the crew to abandon ship. Because the Doctor's program cannot be downloaded he would be destroyed along with the ship, but immediately Dreadnought is destroyed thanks to Torres' efforts, Janeway aborts the self-destruct order.
MEDICAL REPORT:
Torres is slightly injured and is suffering from oxygen deprivation as Dreadnought had stopped providing life support. The Doctor reports to Janeway: "I wanted to advise you that I took the liberty of beaming Lieutenant Torres from the transporter room to Sickbay. She is somewhat singed around the edges but should make a complete recovery."
