DOCTOR'S LOG:

The Doctor had previously altered his program so that he no longer says, "Please state the nature of the medical emergency" when activated. Regretting the decision, he reinstates the greeting because he does not know how to start a conversation. After Kes witnesses his bedside manner with Ensign Wildman (see MEDICAL REPORT below), she rebukes him for not being sympathetic enough to his patients. Accordingly, the Doctor programs a 29-hour bout of Levodian flu for himself for a specific length of time, but Kes secretly extends the program because not knowing when an illness will end is what happens in real life. The Doctor is miserable during the experience. He uses holographic tissues. He contacts Janeway in a panic when he has had the flu for 30 hours.

MEDICAL REPORT:

During a routine prenatal visit to Sickbay regarding her first pregnancy, the Doctor informs Ensign Wildman that her back pain is caused by her unborn baby pressing on her sciatic nerve. To relieve the pain the Doctor suggests that she sit with her feet up while on duty.

MEDICAL ADMINISTRATION:

The Doctor says via comms: "Captain Janeway, this is the Doctor. Please turn to your Emergency Medical Holographic channel." This is channel 47, established in  [#3 Parallax]. See that Medical Logs episode entry for more details.

DOCTOR'S QUOTE:

Complaining piteously while suffering from Levodian flu: "I feel like I'm fading, just fading away. You don't know what that means to a hologram."
