MEDICAL LOGS
PARTURITION
Season 2 : Episode 23
MEDICAL REPORT:
Scans of an unnamed M-class planet indicates high amino acid and protein levels. The Voyager crew incorrectly concludes that this means the planet supports plant life. Instead, the elements exist only in the trigemic vapours on the planet which serve as a nutritional source for the hatchlings of a repto-humanoid race. The high levels of trigemic vapours can cause severe humanoid skin irritations and the Doctor develops a batch of dermal osmotic sealant to combat the problem. Shuttlecraft crew Paris and Neelix take the sealant with them on the away mission.

Neelix suggests administering cordrazine to the ailing reptilian infant but Paris rejects this as being too dangerous.
EMH SPECIFICATION:
When activated, the Doctor's program establishes comlinks with all key areas of the ship. The Doctor has been using this advantage to eavesdrop on what is occurring throughout the ship until he is ordered by the captain to stop this practice. The Doctor can quote autopsy reports from duels as far back as the year 1538.
MEDICAL ADMINISTRATION:
The Doctor says via comms: "Sickbay to Bridge. Please turn to your Emergency Medical Holographic Channel." This is channel 47, established in
[#3 Parallax]. See that entry for more details.

DOCTOR'S LOG:
The Doctor at first thinks, perhaps rather jocularly, that Paris is suffering from Tanzian flu, a medical condition whose symptoms include increased respiration rate, dilated pupils, and orange coloration of the ears, until he realises that Paris actually has a crush on Kes.
STAR TREK CONTEXTUAL MEDICAL GLOSSARY:
Cordrazine.
DOCTOR'S QUOTE:
To Janeway: "I hope you don't mind that I've been eavesdropping, but I have something important to contribute. Of course, it wouldn't be necessary for me to eavesdrop if I were included in these discussions as a matter of operating protocol."
