MEDICAL REPORT:

To improve Chakotay's chances of infiltrating the Vidiian facility, the Doctor carries out cosmetic surgery to give him the appearance of a Vidiian. One of the tools he uses to do this is a dermal stimulator.

The Vidiian scientist named Sulan discovers that Torres' Klingon genetic structure has phage-resistant nucleotide sequences when her body successfully fights off the disease. The wholly human Torres' cells' ability to synthesise proteins is severely compromised, proving that she needs the Klingon genes to survive. The Doctor uses the counterpart's tissues to replicate the Klingon DNA, and thus is able to restore Torres to her previous self.

MORGUE RECORD:

Lieutenant Pete Durst is killed by the Vidiians and his organs and body tissue harvested. His body is not recovered. The fully Klingon Torres dies, but see MEDICAL REPORT.
